The production unit of a machine shop should be certified CSA W59 and ASME Sec IX, and all the welders and machinists are CWB and AWS-certified. The assembly unit should have all the equipment needed to handle complex hydroelectric projects and conduct final tests. An inventory of raw materials is stored close by to support operations.

To establish quality standards and the leadership to maintain them, a machine shop should be certified ISO 9001. The fabrication unit should have all the technical certifications the machine shop and fabrication industry requires (CSA W59, ASME, CWB and AWS).
